Abstract

Professor Marion Koopmans will give an online guest lecture within the scope of the theme course Introduction to Climate and Sustainability, though also accessible to the wider AUC community as a “Who’s in Town” lecture. She will discuss the relations between climate change, biodiversity loss and human interaction with nature on the one hand and the risk of infectious diseases on the other hand.

Speaker

Prof. Koopmans is Head of the Erasmus MC Department of Viroscience and a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). Since the start of the corona pandemic, she has been part of the Dutch Outbreak Management Team (OMT). She has won several prizes for her science communication efforts.
