Abstract

Are we always responsible for our actions? Can we be blamed for outcomes that result from the actions of others? To what extent can organisations be held accountable for events over which they have no or limited control? What is the relation between responsibility and complicity? In this lecture, Prof. dr. Martin van Hees will present an overview of existing approaches to the understanding of moral responsibility. Rather than defending a particular position, he will explain and discuss the assumptions underlying different accounts of the scope of our responsibility.
