Dr. Hilla Dayan will share her personal experiences and analysis of the war in Israel/Palestine. She will also address what she experiences in her activist and academic networks as struggles over narratives, framings, statements, and messages that are waged against the backdrop of the ongoing violence and its gruesomeness. What should we as an academic community do to reduce forms of verbal violence, traumatising images, personal harassment, and Islamophobic, antisemitic, racist, and inhumane speech? What is the critical role of universities in times of emergency and political crisis?
